Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
I remember my first bible, a Good News Bible that was required as students of Ibenga Girls Secondary School … A catholic mission school in Zambia’s Mpongwe district. I remember reading from it when I became a Christian, 2 months before my child was born. Looking back, I don’t know that I became a Christian then, because I did have a belief in God and Jesus before that point but April 2002 (don’t remember the exact date), was when I verbally affirmed this belief. That Bible saw me through some dark times, but if you asked me where it is today, I have no idea. It started to fall apart after several years of use … Right now, thinking about it, verses like “God is not a man that He should lie…” come to mind. Other verses I learnt from those times are: Habakkuk 2:2, Jeremiah 29:11-14.
